Development and design verification took place on a late model MGB roadster and an early model GT to ensure achievement of performance and reliability goals.
Virtually every aspect of the car was addressed over a rigorous three year development effort. This included the body structure, suspension system, steering , brakes, engine, transmission, differential and electrical system. Many other features were developed -- Air conditioning and heated seats for increased driving comfort, improved Instrumentation and more upscale interior appointments were integrated into the transformation design.
The GM aluminum 2 Liter DOHC turbo (LTG) engine generates more than adequate power and torque for a car the weight and size of the MGB, yet retains the heritage of a similar displacement 4-cylinder engine. Key features include: Aluminum head and block, Forged steel crankshaft and connecting rods, Direct Injection, Twin scroll turbocharger, and Intercooler.
The result -- excellent performance with modern reliability!
Snake River Classics designed a thoroughly modern integrated suspension system using extensive computer modeling. The highly capable design takes into account the increased power of the engine and does not rely on the basic suspension geometries of the MGB as introduced in the 1960s. The suspension provides excellent balance and inspires driver confidence.
The result -- superb handling like no other MGB!
The restoration does not change the basic character of the car. It remains the nimble sports car that so many have enjoyed over the years. It is simply updated for modern times.
The result -- A transformation that is simply amazing!
Driving the transformed MGB is an exhilarating experience. Performance is addictive. Handling is superb. Bring back the joy of driving with a Modern Classic from Snake River Classics!
