Snake River Classics joins the EV revolution with an electric-powered MGB.
BOISE, IDAHO – Snake River Classics electrifies the classic MGB with a new e-160 motor offering 162 lb-ft of torque and 120 horses of exhilarating power on demand.
The Snake Rivers Classics MGB electric motor provides significantly improved performance and reliability compared to its original 4-cylinder engine (110 lb-ft and 95HP). Available in two MGB styles (Roadster and GT) and two e-motor configurations (either under an impeccably restored MGB hood with the Snake River Classics body and suspension upgrades, or as an electric-to-gas conversion of an existing MGB) it’s ideal for MGB enthusiasts who seek minimal routine engine maintenance.
The two Snake River Classics e-motor configuration specs include:
Electric Snake River Classics MGB: The new E-Specification includes the e-160 electric motor, 5-speed manual transmission, limited slip 3.55:1 differential, power 4-wheel vented disc brakes, Snake River Classics suspension, 15-inch wheels with 195-width tires, power steering, and the interior and body upgrades of the base level, gas-powered Snake River Classics MGB. The E-Spec suspension fully manages the torque of the e-160 motor under acceleration and provides significantly improved handling over a stock MGB. Up to a 150-mile range is possible depending on battery configurations. Optional upgrades include wider wheels, 225 tires, and body features of the gas-powered S-Specification.
Electric Snake River Classics MGB Conversion: The e-160 electric motor replaces the stock MGB engine. The dashboard is replaced by a first-generation style steel dash with new instrumentation. Battery options offer up to 150 miles of range. The stock MG transmission, 3.9:1 differential, suspension, 14-inch wheels and tires, 11-inch solid disc front brakes with rear drums, steering rack, body, and interior are retained. Optional upgrades include a gear-driven limited slip differential, enhanced front disc brakes, tubular front and rear shocks, and power steering.
